Show Notes

This was Phish’s only show at MSU Auditorium – a historic multi-purpose performance venue with a capacity of 3,680. Tickets cost $18.50 and the show was sold out. This show featured the 1st Little Tiny Butter Biscuits (Jeff Mosier cover) and Roll In My Sweet Baby’s Arms (traditional cover) played by Phish. Little Tiny Butter Biscuits, Old Home Place and My Long Journey Home were performed acoustic with Trey on acoustic guitar, Mike on banjo, Page on upright bass, Fish on mandolin and Rev. Jeff Mosier on banjo/vocals except Little Tiny Butter Biscuits, an instrumental which featured that same acoustic setup with Jeff Mosier with Trey on fiddle onstage for the first time. Fish congratulated Trey on his fiddle playing before Old Home Place. Possum included The Simpsons secret language plus teases of Bathtub Gin and Dave’s Energy Guide. Roll In My Sweet Baby’s Arms, and Runaway Jim also featured Rev. Jeff Mosier on banjo/vocals and banjo respectively. There was a post-show Trey/Mosier acoustic bluegrass jam out by the band’s bus, foreshadowing the better-known parking lot jam the next night at IU. After this show, the band and crew traveled 307 miles overnight to Bloomington, Indiana.
