This was Phish’s only performance at America West Arena – a basketball and hockey arena located in downtown Phoenix, opened in 1990 with a concert capacity of 16,383. Tickets cost $22.50. This was unconfirmed at the time but this show took place on the 13th anniversary of Phish’s 1st gig. Soundcheck started with the 1st known Melissa (Allman Brothers Band cover) played by Phish. Fish played a vacuum solo during I Didn’t Know. Scent of a Mule was unfinished. After this show the band traveled 373 miles overnight to Los Angeles to sing the national anthem before the LA Lakers vs. Seattle Supersonics game at The Forum, while the crew traveled overnight to San Diego for a day off.
