This was Phish’s first show at Target Center – a multi-purpose arena with parquet floors (ala FleetCenter in Boston) built by the Timberwolves in 1990 with a concert capacity of 18,473. Tickets cost $20.00. The Dog Log soundcheck included a mashup with Funky Bitch. The final Funky Bitch(es) worked on during soundcheck were played with a rap beat. After Taste, Trey said “we’re happy to be here. we hope some of you heard us do the national anthem last night for the Minnesota Timberwolves game…second gig in a row in this building.” Suzy Greenberg came unhinged at this show leading to the big Jam that followed. After this show the band and crew traveled 215 miles overnight to Ames, Iowa.
