This was Phish’s second show at The Palace – with a stated capacity for this show of 20,531. Tickets cost $24.50 and the show was sold out. Trey played Talk on acoustic guitar. Trey had equipment problems and was kicking his amp during the show to address a short in the wiring. After this show the crew traveled overnight to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a day off while the band stuck around Detroit to catch a Red Wings home game. This Split Open And Melt was released in November 2007 on the ‘Road to Vegas’ bonus disc that was included with the ‘Vegas 96’ box set.
