Show Notes

This was Phish’s 1st performance at the Key Arena – a multi-purpose entertainment venue located in the Seattle Center originally opened in 1962 for the Seattle World’s Fair. It was the night before Thanksgiving and tickets cost $22.50 The Scent Of A Mule duel found Trey scatting the Brady Bunch theme and Fish playing vacuum. Bold As Love and Fire were both dedicated to Jimi Hendrix on his birthday in his hometown (The Star Spangled Banner was also a part of this tribute). The Down With Disease/Tweezer section of set II has earned it the name “The Diseezer.” Tweezer included a Sweet Emotion Jam. The instrumental Down with Disease reprise had a Can’t You Hear Me Knocking ending. The morning after this show, the band and crew flew to San Francisco for a day off to celebrate Thanksgiving together. This show was released in 2021 as an archival stream/download at LivePhish.com.
