London, England

Set List

Show Notes

This was Phish’s first-ever headline show in Europe and their first show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire – a historic music hall originally opened in 1903 with a capacity of about 2,000. It was used from 1953-1994 as the BBC Television Theatre before it was renovated and converted back to live music/performance in 1991. Reba ended without whistling. During I Didn’t Know, Trey introduced Fish for his vacuum solo saying “Please, a warm hand for Her Royal Highness, Fish.” Terrapin was played for the first time in more than a year (since 6/13/95) and after the outro Hold Your Head Up, Trey explained the show’s second vac solo – “Just to show you how happy we are to be playing in London, only Syd Barrett would make Fish play the vacuum cleaner twice in one gig. He’s up in the second balcony…Thanks for coming down.” Hello My Baby was performed without microphones. After this show, the band and crew traveled about 6 hours overnight via bus and ferry to Amsterdam.
