Show Notes
To close a weekend that begat both the O.J. Show and Chicago ’94, the band rolled into their second and last show at the State Theater. Before the show, the whole band sat backstage with Big Daddy Duross for a funny TV interview that has since popped up online. Like the Danny Bonaduce interview in Chicago the day before, this interview began with the band performing a special number for the host by singing the line (to the tune of Back In My Hometown (ala 4/4/94 or 7/16/94) “Big Daddy Du from Kalamazoo.” The soundcheck list may be incomplete. In another flashback to the weekend’s fun, Suzy Greenberg included a tease of How Many More Times. My Sweet One was performed acoustic without amplification with Trey on acoustic guitar, Mike on upright bass, Page on Melodica and Fish on Madonna washboard. The Kalamazoo audience sang along with the last couple verses and chorus. Free Bird was performed A cappella but with microphones and was played in response to multiple requests from the rowdy crowd. After the show the band and crew traveled overnight 279 miles to Cincinnati for a day off.
