Show Notes

This was Phish’s third performance at The Spectrum and the second show of a 2-night stand. Tickets cost $25.00 and the show was sold out. Page teased the Theme From Sesame Street during The Squirming Coil – parts of which included Trey on his percussion rig. This show featured the third Rotation Jam instrument switch ever, which led to the 1st Sixteen Candles (The Crests cover) played by Phish – performed solo on piano by Mike. The band returned to You Enjoy Myself for the vocal jam following Sixteen Candles. Harpua sandwiched the 1st Champagne Supernova played by Phish for which Tom Marshall came onstage to sing lead vocals. The Harpua narration found Harpua, Jimmy and Posternutbag confronted by the “Uber Demon” and the “evil sound of hell.” Building on a string of rarities in set II, Caravan was played for the first time in more than two years (since 12/2/94). After this show the band and crew traveled 310 miles overnight to Boston.
