Set List

Show Notes

This was Phish’s second show at this venue which was listed in the April/May 1994 Doniac Schvice simply as “Starwood.” The show was scheduled to take place at The Veranda at Starwood where the band played the previous summer on 7/30/93. Due to rain, the show was moved to the main stage of this amphitheater with a capacity of about 17,100. Hank Williams Jr. had been rehearsing for an upcoming tour on the main stage so Phish got to used his lighting and P.A. for their 1st show in a venue where they would eventually play twice more between this date and their 2000 hiatus. After Stash, Trey thanked Hank Williams Jr. for letting Phish use his equipment and played a little of All My Rowdy Friends Are Here On Monday Night (Hank Williams Jr. cover) while kidding about playing the Monday Night Football song in Hank’s honor. Amazing Grace was performed A cappella without microphones. Black Or White (Michael Jackson cover), Sunshine of Your Love (teases of which date back to 3/11/88) and You Are The Sunshine of My Life were all teased during Bowie. If I Could during both the soundcheck and the show featured Alison Krauss on the backing vocals she performed on the Hoist album version. Harpua included Page teases of Charge! and I Wan’na Be Like You as well as full band teases of Sunshine Of Your Life and You Are The Sunshine Of My LIfe. After this show the band and crew traveled 570 miles overnight to New Orleans.
