Show Notes
This was Phish’s second show at the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium. Capacity for the show was 10,636 and tickets cost $22.50. This was the last show in the Midwest before the tour continued in the Pacific Northwest. The Dog Log soundcheck opener was an extended, minimalist blues. The Blues Jam lyric mashup from the soundcheck included lyrics from at least: Mike’s Song, Golgi Apparatus, Character Zero, My Sweet One, Lengthwise, Waste, Ha Ha Ha, Water in The Sky, and Spock’s Brain. Trey sang the verses of Fee through a megaphone. Following an extended Bathtub Gin, Trey announced the first-ever Vibration of Life dedication, which he sent out to the crew – specifically, Audio Crew Chief and speaker designer (and founder of Snow Sound) Bob Neumann. You Enjoy Myself contained a Groove is in the Heart (Dee-Lite cover) jam that included some lyrics and some Mike foot bell. After this show the band and crew flew to Spokane, Washington for a couple days off.
