This was Phish’s second appearance and their 1st and only headline show at this outdoor venue at the base of Big Birch ski area, with a tent covering the reserved seats and stage and a capacity of 6,000. Reserved tickets cost $20.50. Fans in the front dissembled the rows of zip-tied folding chairs and stacked them to maximize dancing space. Trey sang the verses of Fee through his megaphone. Fish played his solo during I Didn’t Know on trombone. Wilson, sandwiched inside Cavern for the first and only time in Phish history, was played to the music of Cavern. Tweezer before Julius included teases of the Woody Woodpecker Theme. Julius was sandwiched inside Tweezer for the first and only time in Phish history and Tweezer after Julius included teases of I Wish and I Know A Little. Big Black Furry Creature From Mars, also sandwiched inside Tweezer for the first and only time in Phish history, was a bluegrass version in the style of Scent Of A Mule and was unfinished, instead segueing back into a third round of Tweezer. Trey teased parts of Slave To The Traffic Light during the set-closing Suzy Greenberg. After this show the band and crew traveled 256 miles overnight to Canandaigua, New York.
