This was Phish’s second and last show at Bangor Auditorium. It was a rainy night, tickets cost $18.00 and the show was sold out. Soundcheck started with the 1st known Free Ride (The Edgar Winter Group cover) played by Phish. The second rendition of Old Home Place during soundcheck was the acoustic version. This far out Possum included teases of I’m A Man (Spencer Davis Group cover). Old Home Place and Foreplay/Longtime were performed acoustic with Trey on acoustic guitar, Mike on banjo, Page on upright bass and Fish on Madonna washboard. Before Foreplay/Long Time, Trey pointed out that Bangor Auditorium and Nectars are both on Route 2, so Phish had been playing on that same road for eleven years. This rendition of Tweezer was released on “A Live One.” After this show, the band and crew traveled 324 miles overnight to Amherst, Massachusetts.
