Show Notes

This show was not listed in the Fall Tour 91 Phish Update. It took place in the Cochran Lounge in the old Student Union building, which has since been torn down. Approximately 300 people were in attendance. Apparently it was an affluent crowd because Brother, during which Mike broke a bass string, was dedicated to “the guy who offered us $10,000 to play a different song”. During the Hold Your Head Up intro, Fish exclaimed “I hate this fucking song!” Trey responded by explaining that Hold Your Head Up is the Henrietta theme because Fish hates it. Before his vacuum solo in Terrapin, Fish again said “I hate this fucking song! My father always told me, when in doubt vacuum.” Fish switched to trombone for the Hold Your Head Up outro. When Trey asked who could name the writer of the song and someone answered correctly, Trey declared that person won the $10,000 the other guy was going to give them to play a song. Page added that the winner won a date with Fish. At the end of set I after Golgi Apparatus, Trey said “Thank you. We’ll be right back with more songs that Fish hates, more songs that we love, and more songs that people are willing to pay $10K to hear.” Trey introduced Page as Leon before his piano solos in My Sweet One and Rocky Top. During I Didn’t Know, Trey ribbed Fish about his Prison Joke told during their last visit to the area (4/11/91) and gave him a chance to tell a better one. Fish then told a new joke about two Siamese Twins. Reportedly Sweet Adeline was sung without microphones from the balcony before the band returned to the stage for Possum and Llama. Possum included Charlie Chan and Random Laugh secret language. This setlist was compiled from circulating fan sources and reports.
