Show Notes

This was Phish’s second and final show at The Sting. The soundcheck featured the 1st known performance of Shaggy Dog in more than two years (since 11/3/88). After Brother, Trey said “here we are, back on the East Coast…finally.” After Chalk Dust Torture Trey said “well, what the heck, Mike is still changing his bass string after all these songs, so why not bring out Henrietta to sing.” Fish must have been tangled up in his Electrolux because before he started singing, he said “let’s get this vacuum shit out of the way”. During Love You, Fish introduced the band, including Mike as Cactus “pretty good for four strings.” During his vacuum solo he achieved what he called his highest note ever. After the Hold Your Head Up outro, Trey heard the crowd yelling that it was Wes’s birthday so he brought Wesley on stage to compliment his new haircut and to wish him a happy birthday. Mike then brought out “the extra bass” and the band started Wilson. Over the Wilson intro, Trey mentioned that his close friends Molly and Shawn were at the gig and that he was seeing them for the first time in eight or nine years. During Weekapaug Groove, Trey teased Bewitched Botherd and Bewildered (Rodgers and Hart cover from the musical “Pal Joey”). This encore – Glide, Rocky Top happened to be the exact same encore as the previous show (11/16/91).
