This was Phish's only performance at University of Hartford. The venue was a modern basketball arena with a capacity of 3,995 located inside the University of Hartford Sports Center, sometimes referred to as just "Sports Center". Tickets were $17 and the show was sold out. This show's soundcheck marked the 1st known performance of No One To Depend On (Santana cover) which was played instrumentally. The soundchecked Poor Heart started A capella, then was accompanied by drums only and finally developed into a full-band, electric boogie-woogie. Trey played The Horse on acoustic guitar. Due to the size of the venue, Amazing Grace was performed with microphones.
