Show Notes

This was the first indoor show of summer tour and Phish’s 1st show at this civic center auditorium with a capacity of about 3,000. The soundcheck featured a Blues Jam/Classic Rock Medley that included lyrics from The Boys Are Back In Town (Thin Lizzy cover), Keep Your Hands To Yourself (Georgia Satellites cover) and Working For The Weekend (Loverboy cover). Also played during soundcheck was the 1st known performance of John Hardy (traditional), which Mike sang. This show’s rendition of The Horse featured Trey on acoustic guitar and had a slightly extended introduction. Trey also played acoustic guitar for the beginning of My Friend My Friend. Chalk Dust Torture included a Crimes Of The Mind jam. The encore, a boogie-woogie Piano Duet and Won’t You Come Home Bill Bailey, featured Page’s dad Dr. Jack McConnell joining Page on piano and vocals. Fish joined Page and his father to add a little Madonna washboard to Piano Duet. This was the 1st known performance of Piano Duet, which may have a more proper title.
