Show Notes

This was the last show of the second leg of spring tour. The venue’s full name was Husky Union Building (HUB) Ballroom, a college ballroom with a capacity of 1,500. Fee was sung without the megaphone. This show featured the first public performance of Caravan since The Horn Tour (7/23/91). Tweezer subsequently included teses of Caravan. You Enjoy Myself contained teases of Owner of a Lonely Heart. After the Hold Your Head Up outro, Trey introduced Fish as Henrietta Tubman. During setbreak, the band and crew watched University of North Carolina beat University of Michigan in the NCAA Basketball finals – something Trey referenced on 4/18/93. Carolina was performed in honor of UNC and without microphones. Trey dedicated Fire to his friend, Dudley, “who played the other guitar” in his high school band, Space Antelope and who was now in the band Sweetwater. After this show, the band flew back East to perform at the Boston Music Awards on 4/7/93 where they won the award for Best Debut Album on a Major Label for “A Picture of Nectar”.
