Show Notes

This was Phish’s second show at Memorial Hall. The show was listed in the June/July 93 Phish Update under 8/16/93 as tentative for this date. Fish broke out his Zero Man costume for this show. The soundcheck featured the 1st and only known performance of Shock The Monkey (Peter Gabriel cover). During Llama Trey shouted out Page’s solo “take it Leo!” and Mike teased the “Wilson” lyrics during the ending. Guelah Papyrus contained Oom Pah Pah secret language. Trey played The Horse on acoustic guitar – this rendition had a slightly extended intro. The You Enjoy Myself vocal jam was based on “Ob La Di, Ob La Da.” Memories was performed without microphones – before singing it, Trey said “we’re going just do one without the mics real quick…as long as Zero Man comes and helps us out.” After this show, the band and crew traveled 626 miles overnight to Boulder, Colorado where they enjoyed a couple days off.
