Show Notes
This venue located within the M.H.C.C. was a small arena with a capacity of about 3,000 often referred to as Mair Hall . The pause in Guelah Papyrus between The Asse Festival and Guelah (The Fly) contained Oom Pah Pah secret language. Esther’s intro included The Simpsons and Random Note secret language. Trey introduced Fish as Tubbs for his solo in I Didn’t Know, which Fish played not on vacuum or trombone but instead on a sheet of heavy plastic held near the microphone. Take The ‘A’ Train was teased multiple times during Run Like An Antelope – both in the introduction and later in the song. Trey played acoustic guitar for the My Friend My Friend intro, during which Fish introduced Brad. This Big Ball Jam ended with Trey, Mike and Brad creating a human “hoop” onstage. This method was devised to get the audience to return the balls to the stage so the show could continue, and was used throughout the tour. You Enjoy Myself included some alternate “Water Your Team In A Beehive I’m A-sent You” lyrics. Fish played an extended vacuum solo during Terrapin. Harry Hood was inspired by a crowd chant after Hold Your Head Up. Before Harpua, Trey mentioned the band and crew’s $1,000 bet against Fish that he couldn’t be on time for the bus the whole tour. The narration in Harpua found Jimmy watching Michael Jackson on the Super Bowl XXVII halftime show and included a Black Or White jam. In an unusual twist to the story, Poster killed Harpua and died of a heart attack. Before Amazing Grace Fish announced “we’ve got to have dead silence – we’re going to sing this song until the cows come home”. There was a huge snow storm this night that dumped nearly a foot of snow.
