Show Notes
This was Phish’s 1st show at the Parlor City’s Broome County Forum, which had a capacity of about 1,500. It was an all ages show. Flyers read “Two Just Men present: An Evening With Phish”. Tickets were reserved at $14 and $16. The show took place on the Vernal Equinox. This rendition of Run Like An Antelope contained The Simpsons secret language as well as a now-rare trombone solo by Fish. Before Mike’s Song, Trey teased Roundabout (Yes cover) and pleaded “Help Me, I’m melting and I can’t solidify.” Weekapaug Groove included Oom Pah Pah and Random Note secret language, and toward it’s end and continuing into Sanity, Trey and Mike shouted band and crew nicknames, starting with “Mike” “Cactus”, etc. and running through the whole crew. Sanity ended with a vocal jam based on more names, especially “Page”. During Terrapin, Fish played his vacuum powered bagpipes. As the band started Possum, Trey paused to impart the Secret Language Instructions to the New York State audience.
