Show Notes

This show was not listed in the Apr/May 92 Phish Update and was unannounced, with no mention in the newsletter or on the hotline. The venue was the the Achilles Rink, an ice skating rink and arena with a capacity at the time of around 2500. Only the floor/rink level was used for Phish. The show took place on Page’s birthday. A No Smoking announcement was made before The Landlady opener. Fish played a trombone solo during I Didn’t Know. This experimental Possum included The Simpsons, Fall Down and Finger Scrape secret language and many teases including Rocky Mountain Way, L.A. Woman, China Grove (Doobie Brothers cover), It’s Ice and Divided Sky. The Squirming Coil featured a brief “Happy Birthday” sung to Page by the audience. During the Cold As ice intro, Fish was introduced by Trey as “a man who has no mind to lose…Henrietta.” During Love You, Fish started going through the ages, birthdays and nicknames of the band (Page “Dad”, Mike “Mom”, Paul “Grandpa”) and crew. Trey interjected “Phish, more entertainment for your entertainment dollar”. Also during Love You, Page teased Lonesome Cowboy Bill (Velvet Underground cover), foreshadowing events of 5/16/95 and beyond. Brother and Possum from this show were released in 2011 on the I-90s bonus disc with the Live in Utica DVD/CD box set.  The full show was released in 2017 as an archival stream/download at LivePhish.com.
