Set List

Show Notes

This was Phish’s 1st show in Denmark. It was an all ages, 1-set show at the 22nd annual Roskilde Festival. Roskilde is one of Europe’s largest music festivals – a multiple-act, four-day festival with, in 1992, over 100 bands and 65,000 audience members. Phish shared the bill with, among others, the Violent Femmes, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Faith No More and David Byrne. The Introduction before Runway Jim pointed out the vacuum as in instrument and concluded with “all the way from the other side of the Atlantic. They start their name with a “Ph” but nevertheless they are, Phish!” On audience recordings, the audience can be heard rocking and clapping away to what must be their first exposure to Phish. Before Uncle Pen, Trey announced they were going to play a Bill Monroe song, which elicited hoots and testimony. This extended David Bowie introduction featured a full-band tease of Uncle Pen, The Simpsons, multiple Finger Scrape and Oom Pah Pah secret language. During I Didn’t Know, Trey introduced Fish in a way befitting of the scale of the event, “Ladies and gentlemen, the Master of the World is now going to play the Electrolux vacuum for you. Please give a warm welcome to Henrietta.” Good Times Bad Times reached a brief moment of resemblance with Tweezer Reprise.
